RCM-SEEVCCC Climate projections
Model Setup
SEEVCCC provides results of climate projections obtained with coupled atmosphere-ocean Regional Climate Model (RCM-SEEVCCC). Results from INGV/CMCC’s model, SINTEX-G, are used as initial and lateral boundary conditions for this climate projection integrations, as a part of projects SINTA and ADRICOSM-STAR.
Model domain:
Atmospheric part: Euro-Mediterranean region, with model center at 15°E/41.5°N, with +/-19.9° boundaries in west-east direction and +/-13.0° boundaries in south-north direction (red dots on figure below).
Ocean part: Mediterranean Sea without Black sea (light blue rectangle on figure below).
Model resolution:
Atmospheric part: 0.25° in horizontal and 32 vertical levels.
Ocean part: 0.2° in horizontal and 21 vertical levels.
Climate projections
Climate simulations are performed for three time slices, using two IPCC scenarios. Available data can be found here.
Experiment | Time slice |
20c3m (present climate) | 1961-1990 |
A1B | 2001-2030 |
A1B | 2071-2100 |
A2 | 2071-2100 |
Temperature and precipitation annual change for period 2001-2030 according to A1B scenario.
Temperature and precipitation annual change for period 2071-2100 according to A1B scenario.
